Via del Cerriglio is a narrow street close to Corso Umberto I, on the southern edge of Naples’ UNESCO-listed historic centre. Spaccanapoli, Via Toledo, churches, pizzerias, cafés and small shops are all nearby, while the port and Molo Beverello can be reached on foot. Università metro station is approximately three minutes away and Toledo station around five minutes away, providing access to Napoli Centrale and other districts. The surrounding streets are busy and strongly urban rather than resort-like. Naples International Airport is approximately eight kilometres away, with taxis, buses and combined public-transport journeys available.

• Spaccanapoli – approximately 500 metres: This historic route cuts through the old centre and passes churches, workshops, cafés and traditional street scenes.
• Via Toledo – approximately 500 metres: One of Naples’ main shopping streets leads towards the Spanish Quarter and Piazza del Plebiscito.
• Santa Chiara complex – approximately 550 metres: The Gothic church and colourful majolica-tiled cloister offer a quieter break from the surrounding streets.
• Gesù Nuovo Church – approximately 600 metres: Its distinctive stone façade opens into an elaborate Baroque interior beside one of the old centre’s principal squares.
• Sansevero Chapel Museum – approximately 800 metres: The chapel contains the renowned Veiled Christ sculpture and detailed eighteenth-century artworks.
• Castel Nuovo – approximately 800 metres: The medieval fortress near the harbour contains historic halls, artworks and a monumental triumphal arch.
• Galleria Umberto I – approximately 850 metres: This late-nineteenth-century shopping arcade is recognised for its glass roof and ornate interior.
• Molo Beverello – approximately 900 metres: Ferries and hydrofoils depart from here for Capri, Ischia, Procida and other Bay of Naples destinations.

• Use Università metro station for journeys towards Napoli Centrale instead of walking with luggage through the busiest streets.
• Confirm valet-parking arrangements before arrival because central Naples has restricted traffic zones and limited street parking.
• Book ferry tickets in advance during summer and arrive early at Molo Beverello to locate the correct departure gate.
• Explore Spaccanapoli and the Sansevero Chapel early, before tour groups make the narrow historic-centre streets considerably busier.
• Keep valuables secure in crowded transport areas and around major shopping streets, as in any heavily visited city centre.

April to June and September to October generally provide comfortable temperatures for walking around Naples and taking ferry trips across the bay. July and August are hotter, more crowded and particularly busy at the port. Winter is cooler and wetter but often quieter for museums and historic sights. Easter, Christmas, major football fixtures and public holidays can increase demand, traffic and restaurant reservations.
